Public Safety at 4Cs

The Cape Cod Community College Department of Public Safety is here to protect and serve the campus community. The College employs POST-certified police officers and security officers to provide public safety and emergency services. Additionally, there are partnerships with the Massachusetts State Police, Barnstable County Sheriff's Office and the West Barnstable Fire Department to support operations and campus officers have direct radio communication with Barnstable Police in an emergency.

Campus Security Reports

Who We Are

The Department is comprised of the Director of Public Safety who manages the operation and an investigator who also serves as a community resource officer; both are sworn officers who carry firearms and can make arrests. Uniformed security officers patrol the campus 24/7 by foot, vehicle and bicycle and respond to calls for service. Together the staff are tasked with providing crime prevention, security and law enforcement on campus. The Department also provides periodic training to faculty, students, and staff in the areas of personal safety and security awareness.

In Emergencies, Dial 911 or 774.330.4349

When on campus, calls to 911 will automatically be forwarded to the Barnstable Police Department. To reach a College Public Safety officer anytime day or night, dial 774.330.4349, or x4349 from a campus telephone.
When reporting any emergency, try to remain calm, describe the nature of the call, and provide the exact location of the emergency or incident. All Public Safety staff are CPR/AED certified.
